The history of Narine dates back to the 1960s, when research began in Armenia on a unique strain of lactic acid bacteria, Lactobacillus acidophilus Narine, described by L. A. Erzinkyan. Preparations based on this strain were used for decades in infant nutrition, including artificial and mixed feeding.

Many years of observation and clinical experience led to a deeper understanding of the metabolites of these bacteria and their effects on the human body. A natural outcome of this research was the transfer of this technology into cosmetology, and in 2005 the company ESCO-PHARM began the production of the Narin-E cosmetics line, based on whey containing metabolites of lactic acid bacteria, adapted to the needs of the skin.

Studies conducted in university clinical hospitals in Yerevan demonstrated that regular use of a cream containing purified metabolites of Lactobacillus acidophilus Er-2 317/402 Narine leads to a clear reduction in the presence of microorganisms on the skin.

After applying the Narine whey cream three times a day, the percentage of microorganisms on the skin decreased by approximately 41%. No irritation or allergic reactions were observed during the studies, and the skin showed good tolerance even with frequent use.

Research carried out in the same clinical centers in Yerevan also demonstrated that Narine metabolites reduce carriage of Staphylococcus aureus. Before using the product, Staphylococcus aureus was detected in 36.3% of participants, whereas after completion of the treatment cycle this percentage decreased to 11.3%.
